1 July 1953: Catherine Ferry born
Catherine Ferry was born on 1 July 1953. She rose to fame when she represented France with the song 'Un, deux, trois' at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1976. The song ended up in second place. Among the backing vocalists was Daniel Balavoine. She worked and was produced mainly by Daniel Balavoine, a famous French singer who wrote nearly 30 songs for her.
At the end of the 1980's, she retired from the music scene, not long after Balavoine passed away. In 2010, 'Un, deux, trois' was selected to appear in the new movie 'Potiche', by French director François Ozon, starring Catherine Deneuve and Gérard Depardieu.
